Mitsubishi Aluminum Machine Plates
Chunky 2mm-thick aluminum machine plates for Mitsubishi. The black portion is first chemically-etched to create an indentation, and subsequently filled with black enamel paint to achieve the black background as seen above. It is then coated with a clear layer of lacquer to protect the aluminum against the humid climate in Singapore, hence the glossy finishing.
Aluminum is sometimes preferred due to it being much lighter than stainless steel, though it lacks equally much in durability. A stainless steel machine of the same thickness at 2mm will be at least twice as heavy as this aluminum machine plate. Because it’s so light, it can be easily installed onto machineries with our 3M adhesive tape, without the need for drilling holes and rivets.
The blank spaces seen above will be subsequently engraved with the respective information that will only be made known at a later stage. This is another advantage of aluminum over stainless steel. Because aluminum is softer, it is much easier to create legible engravings onto it when compared to stainless steel. This is great for circumstances such as this item, whereby the specifics of each machinery can only be made known at a later date. The machine plate can first be fabricated, saving time and delay in shipment dates.
